hooplaWe now have hoopla media service for streaming video. This service has a Kids Mode, the Great Courses, Acorn TV (British shows) and more.

Download the app on the App Store or Google Play.  If you are using your laptop/computer go to https://www.hoopladigital.com/.  Checkouts are for three days to watch and/or download.  You can only download on a mobile device, but this service is available to watch on a laptop/computer as well.  You can also use Chromecast, Roku, Amazon Fire app, Alexa and Apple TV. 

To log in, enter your email address and pick a password of your choice.  It will ask you for your Calabasas Library card number. You need to have a City of Calabasas Library card in good standing.   You do not need to use your pin as with Cloud Library.  You have 10 credits to use per month for ALL types of formats on hoopla.  When they are gone you have to wait for the next month.

Access Video on Demand: Just for Kids

Access Video on Demand: Just for Kids: is an excellent resource for children’s programs and homework help.  It has high-interest, engaging content of more than 5,500 titles, including Videos, Audio Titles, Interactive Activities, Story Time, Games and more.  All content is reviewed, vetted, and ad-free with a focus on early literacy and elementary school students.  Your child needs a Calabasas Library card in good standing to access from home or in the library.

Alexander Street Performing Arts Video Collection

AlexanderSTTo access the Alexander Street Performing Arts Collection, in the library, click on the link.  For home access, choose Calabasas City Library and put in the Calabasas Library card number.  The card must be in good standing.  There is no checkout limit.  This is available on a web browser on any device.  There is no app. If you need help, please email Karilyn Steward at ksteward@calabasaslibrary.org.

Dance Online: Dance in Video presents an extensive collection of performances, instructional materials, documentaries, and interviews, showcasing high-caliber performances from the greatest dance companies and performers worldwide, spanning from traditional ballet to hip hop, street dance, and modern dance, offering a unique opportunity for to study and analyze the fusion between styles.

The Broadway On Demand Collection takes viewers from behind the stage to the bright lights of Broadway through masterful plays, musicals, and dance performances, but it also provides a diverse range of unique behind-the-scenes series, documentaries, instructional videos, and more.

National Theatre Collections provides contemporary video productions, modern reinterpretations of classic all featuring acclaimed actors and directors of the highest caliber along with exclusive behind-the-scenes archival content.

PBSThe PBS Video Collection has more than 1,200 streaming educational videos from PBS. It includes science to history, art to Shakespeare, diversity to business & economics, and more.  This can only be used in a browser.  Log in with your Calabasas Library card, but make a free account to save, cite and more.
