INDUSTRIAL WASTE CLEARANCE: There is an approximate two-week initial review period necessary to determine if: a) Plan Check at Alhambra Office is required and if required, there is a six (6) week business day turnaround or b) Domestic Waste Clearance Stamp will suffice. The Alhambra office determines the fee for this.
Any business that generates, handles, or disposes of industrial wastewater (i.e. restaurant, car wash, automotive shop, dental office, laboratory, medical facility, etc.) must obtain an industrial waste disposal permit (Los Angeles County Code, Chapter 20.36) from the Unit. The Unit reviews plans to determine if facilities have adequate pretreatment systems.
The business must obtain clearance and an IW Disposal Permit (IWDP) for the discharge of wastewater to sanitary sewers, private disposal systems, or offsite disposal.
