Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and Supervisor Lindsey Horvath are excited to announce the “Be Prepared” Safety Fair on Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10am-1pm at the Calabasas Community Center.
This free, family-friendly event will feature safety booths covering topics from earthquakes, fires and floods, to CPR, medical issues and much more. There will be K9s, The Mini Therapy Horses, Touch-a-Truck with Safety Vehicles, a Mobile Vaccine Clinic, blood pressure checks, displays and incredibly important presentations.
Presentations include:
10:15 – How to Harden Your Home for Fires with the Resource Conservation District
10:30 – A special story time with Captain Jenn Seetoo - “Star’s Great Adventure: Becoming a Deputy Sheriff,” featuring a mini horse
11:15 – Surviving California Emergencies with LA County Fire Department Chief Drew Smith, Sheriff Captain Jenn Seetoo and the Director of the LA County Office of Emergency Services
12:15 – Earthquake Preparedness with Caltech’s Margaret Vinci
