at-your-door

Do you have used motor oil in your home? Old paint? Unwanted TV or computer?

The City of Calabasas offers a collection service for these household special materials to residents. Through this program, you can schedule a collection of these materials right from your home.

How does this service work?

  1. Residents can contact this service to schedule a pickup of their items.
  2. A Collection Kit with instructions will be mailed to your home.
  3. Read the instructions carefully, there are some items unable to be collected.
  4. On day of your collection, place the Collection Bag near your front door or other area on your property that was discussed with the Customer Service Representative. The materials will be picked up at your home.
  5. Materials are taken to a facility, then sorted and sent to be recycled and/or disposed of properly.

Acceptable materials for pick up include:

  • Automotive Products (used motor oil, oil filters and batteries)
  • Garden Chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, weed killers, etc.)
  • Paint Products
  • Household Cleaners
  • Swimming Pool Chemicals
  • Electronics (TV’s, computers, monitors and more)
  • Household Batteries
  • Fluorescent tubes and Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL)
  • Thermometers and thermostats
  • Sharps, needles & lancets (must be placed into rigid, sealed, puncture-resistant container)

We do not accept biological waste, appliances, ammunition, asbestos, any medicines/pharmaceuticals or radioactive materials. Materials must be in a sealed, labeled container in 5 gal or less. This is a residential program only, no business materials will be collected.

At Your Door is available for free for residents to discard Hazardous Waste and Electronic waste. There is no limit. Residents can call as many times as they need to utilize this service.

Bulky Item Pickup is offered 3 times a year for free. For any additional pickups, there will be a charge.  This is for any over sized items that do not fit in the residential trash carts, such as furniture, etc.
