The Public Works
Department is working with LA County Public Works (LACPW) and the
Las Virgenes Water District (LVMWD) to upgrade the force main which
is currently over capacity and provide a plausible solution to
mitigate the odor problem found on Declaration and Liberty Bell. The
most desirable solution includes upgrading the existing force main
which is currently routed from the City pump station on Mulholland
Highway back through Liberty bell to the LVMWD trunk sewer on
Mulholland hwy.
LACPW's will be the
lead agency, to complete the design, environmental review and
construction. LACPW currently has sufficient funding within their
maintenance funds to cover the costs to upgrade and increase the
size of the force main, which will increase capacity.
