Construction
activities for the 2010 Calabasas Annual Resurfacing Project began in July. Construction is expected to continue
through October 21, 2010. There will be limited access on days when actual
paving occurs, but only for a short period of time. The Contractor
will re-open the streets as soon as it is safe and possible to do
so. The streets will be paved one travel lane at a time, therefore,
access will be provided when needed.
This project involves
the use of Asphalt Rubberized Hot Mix (ARHM) to improve certain
characteristics of roads in Calabasas. ARHM elongates the lifespan
of roads and provides a suitable surface for cars to drive on.
Also, overlaying is an environmentally safe choice because it
prevents pollution from the construction of repaving as well as
preventing the creation of waste products that come out of ripping
the pavement out of the ground.
A
section of Parkway Calabasas between Camino Portal and Paseo
Primario (West) has been added to the 2010 Annual Citywide
Resurfacing Project. It is in need of pavement repair. About 200
linear feet suffer from pavement distress comprised in pavement
cracking, erosion of the pavement surface and general deformation.
This work will be completed in December. |
