Find, check the status of, and even hold books at the Calabasas Library Online Catalog

To access your library account:
 - Click on Calabasas Library Online Catalog
 - Click on My Info
 - Enter your library card number
 - Enter your last name as the password.

To place a hold on an item
 - Open up the record of the item you want
 - Click on E-mail request
 - Fill out the hold request form and send.

Infotrac, NewsBank, and Reference USA.  Access to journals, magazines, newspapers, and business references.

   
Pathfinders

Library Pathfinders are information maps that lead patrons to relevant sources on a particular topic.  Our print and computer resources include both materials available in the library and online resources such as databases and recommended websites.
   

Audio Books

We have downloadable audio books available at NetLibrary. F
irst time users MUST come into the Library to sign up for an account.  If you have an account, click the link to log in.  For more information, please call or come into the Library.

Pimsleur language programs are no longer available for download. We still have language books on CDs in the library. Please click Mango Languages for online language options.

   
Mango Languages

We are now using Mango Languages for online language learning. To create an account you need a valid email address, your library card number, and to choose a password. You must go through the library website to access this program. It is not downloadable. It is an interactive online program. You will just need an internet connection. For more information, call or come into the library.

IS YOUR CHILD'S READING GOING TO THE DOGS?
LET'S HOPE SO!

Bring your new and emerging reader (grades K-3) to the Calabasas Library to share in a unique reading program. Therapy dogs, trained through Paws 4 Healing, will sit (or lie!) and listen while your child experiences the joy of reading aloud.

WHEN:   Saturday, April 3, 2010
*TIME:   11:30-1:30p.m.
*Each child will have 15 minutes to read to a dog.  
  Reservation will begin at 11 a.m. in the library.

MOVIE DISCUSSION AT THE LIBRARY!

The Calabasas Library is considering starting a movie discussion group for adults.

The first meeting would be at Wednesday, April 21st at 6pm.

If there is interest, each meeting will consist of a movie (feature film or documentary no more than 2 hours), with a follow-up discussion of no more than one half hour.

The first movie we will be watching is Mine, a documentary of the powerful story about the essential bond between humans and animals told against the backdrop of one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.

Get tutoring help at the Calabasas Library!!

Most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30p.m. to 4:30p.m.
in the Calabasas Library meeting room.

Study Buddies is cancelled from March 23rd through April 8th.

The Calabasas Library Study Buddies program allows Calabasas elementary and middle school students to get free help with homework at the Calabasas Library. High school students are available to help elementary and middle school students with their homework and to work on study skills. For more information, contact the library for availability at (818) 225-7616.


PEER COUNSELING

Peer Counseling is cancelled from April 1st through April 8th.

Peer counseling (9th through 12th grades) is available in the Young Adult area on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Calabasas Library.

Drop in between the hours of 3:30pm to 5:30pm to get help on Math, English, or the latest school project.

Library services are provided to Calabasas residents. The Library was taken over from Los Angeles County by the City of Calabasas and officially became the Calabasas Library on July 11, 1998.  The Calabasas Library is located at 200 Civic Center Way (map).
