20TH ANNUAL FINE ARTS FESTIVAL RETURNS IN MAY

Come out to the 20th Annual Calabasas Fine Arts Festival to admire beautiful art pieces, listen to music and enjoy delicious food! The Festival returns on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7. This beloved community event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Civic Center and Commons in Calabasas. The Fine Arts Festival features over 150 painters, jewelers, potters, sculptors, photographers, glass artists, woodworkers and more. Fine dining restaurants, gourmet food trucks, and live musical performances will round out this wonderful weekend with the arts! Parking and admission are free. CITY OF CALABASAS NIGHT AT DODGER STADIUM

Get your tickets today for this year's City of Calabasas Dodger Night! Join us at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, May 9 as the Los Angeles Dodgers play the Pittsburgh Pirates. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. with Mayor Mary Sue Maurer throwing out the first pitch prior to the start of the game.

Tickets are available at City Hall, Juan Bautista de Anza Park, and the Tennis and Swim Center. The cost for Infield Reserve is $15 and the price for Preferred Reserve is $12.

US-101 FREEWAY CLOSURE

All lanes of the US-101 freeway in Calabasas (the Ventura Freeway) will be closed on four consecutive nights starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, Caltrans announced today. The full freeway closure is required for bridge construction at the US-101 interchange at Lost Hills Road in Calabasas. The following schedule is weather-permitting and subject to change:

- Monday, May 1, starting at 10 p.m.: Up to two lanes closed in both directions.
- Tuesday, May 2, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m.: All lanes closed in both directions.
- Tuesday, May 2, starting at 10 p.m.: Up to two lanes closed in both directions.
- Wednesday, May 3, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m.: All lanes closed in both directions.
- Wednesday, May 3, starting at 10 p.m.: Up to two lanes closed in both directions.
- Thursday, May 4, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m.: All lanes closed in both directions.
- Thursday, May 4, starting at 10 p.m.: Up to two lanes closed in both directions.
- Friday, May 5, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m.: All lanes closed in both directions.

All lanes will be opened by 6:00 a.m. each morning. Signs are in place to notify drivers of the closures, and detours will be posted. Some lane closures may be required in addition to those listed here.

"JUST GET SLEEP!" COMMUNITY MATTRESS DRIVE

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, JUNE 10. The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is hosting a Community Mattress Drive on Saturday, May 13 June 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In partnership with "Just Get Sleep!" we are transforming the Community Center into a beautiful mattress showroom, displaying new mattresses with brand names such as Serta, Simmons, Sealy/Tempur-pedic and Select Comfort. Come on in and try out your new mattress in a very low stress and fun environment. Find a new mattress marked down 20-40% below retail price! And the best part is, the Community Center is a hub for other organizations benefiting from your purchase! BIKE TO WORK ON MAY 19!

Did you know - May is National Bike Month! Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling (both health and environmental) and to encourage more people to give it a try. So, mark your calendars and dust off the pedals - National Bike to Work Week will be held May 15-19 and the official Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 19! CALABASAS SENIOR CENTER - MAY UPDATES

Fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl: Have you ever been to the Hollywood Bowl for the Fourth of July spectacular fireworks? Now is your opportunity! Join the Savvy Seniors for an evening under the stars listening to a program of popular and patriotic music while watching the Bowl’s famous fireworks. Headlining this year is Grammy winning a cappela group, Pentatonix, who create melodic arrangements of beloved songs such as the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah”. Buy your dinner, drinks and refreshments at the Bowl. The excursion is planned on Sunday, July 2nd with the shuttle departing from the Calabasas Senior Center at 4:30 p.m. and returning at 11:30 p.m. Register and secure your place by using the CODE 8011.301 when you register online or in person at the Calabasas Senior Center.

Santa Barbara Landshark Tour: Santa Barbara in the summer offers numerous attractions. The Calabasas Senior Center is planning a trip on Wednesday, July 12 that begins at Stearns Wharf, continues to several historical landmarks, and explores the alluring beachside. The adventure continues at the Santa Barbara Harbor where you will hear maritime legends of Stearns Wharf and discover abundant marine mammals and sea life that inhabit the ocean. REGISTRATION OPENS UP THIS MONTH FOR JULY'S COMMUNITY FLEA MARKET

The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is hosting another Community Flea Market on Saturday, July 8. If you missed out on the last one in January, here's another great opportunity to find that unique treasure! Come shop from 30 vendors, selling antiques, jewelry, furniture, accessories, household items, art, clothing and much more! E-WASTE COLLECTION EVENTS

The City of Calabasas organizes two free monthly electronic waste collection events. On the first Saturday of the month (May 6, 2017), an electronic waste collection will take place at the Albertson’s parking lot, 26521 Agoura Road (at Las Virgenes Road) in Calabasas from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A second monthly electronic waste event will take place on the 3rd Saturday of the month (May 20, 2017) at the El Camino Shopping Center parking lot at 23381 Mulholland Drive in Woodland Hills from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Acceptable items include but are not limited to CD players, laptops and personal computers, microwave ovens, printers, radios, stereos, telephones, and VCR’s. The City of Calabasas holds bi-monthly collections for paint and used oil. On Saturday, May 13, 2017 there will be a free water based paint and used oil collection event at Calabasas City Hall located at 100/200 Civic Center Way (map) adjacent to the Commons from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information, please contact the City of Calabasas Recycling and Solid Waste Coordinator at (818) 224-1600.
