Municipal Election to be held in the City of Calabasas

NOTICE OF MANUAL TALLY
AND SELECTION OF THE PRECINCTS TO BE TALLIED |

The City Clerk of the City of Calabasas has designated
that Calabasas City Hall, 100 Civic Center Way,
Conference Room 2, will be the place for the manual
tally of the ballots for 1 percent of the precincts of
the General Municipal Election held on March 5, 2013.
This manual tally will be held on Thursday, March 7,
2013 at 9:30 a.m. Prior to the conduct of the manual
tally, the election official will randomly select one
(1) precinct to be tallied.

NOTICE OF ELECTION |

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a General Municipal Election will be held in
the City of Calabasas on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, for the
following Officers:
Three (3) Members of the
City Council Full term of four years
The nomination period for
these offices begins on November 13, 2012; at 8:00 a.m.
(City Hall will be closed on November 12 in observance
of Veterans’ Day.) The Nomination period will close on
December 7, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
If nomination papers for
an incumbent officer of the City are not filed by
December 7, 2012 (the 88 th
day before the election), the voters shall have until
the 85th day before the election, December 12, 2012, to
nominate candidates other than the person(s) who are the
incumbents on the 88th day before the election, for that
incumbent’s elective office. This extension is not
applicable where there is no incumbent eligible to be
elected.
If no one or only one
person is nominated for an elective office, appointment
to the elective office may be made as prescribed by
§10229, Elections Code of the State of California.
The polls will be opened between the
hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

NOTIFICACIÓN DE LA ELECCIÓN
POR LA PRESENTE SE DA
AVISO de
que se llevara a cabo una Elección Municipal General en
la Ciudad de Calabasas, el martes, 5 de marzo del 2013,
para los siguientes Funcionarios:
Tres (3) Miembros del
Concejo Municipal (Período completo de cuatro años)
El periodo de nominación
para estas oficinas comienza el 13 de noviembre del 2012
(las oficinas del ayuntamiento estarán cerradas el 12 de
noviembre en celebración del Día de los Veteranos.) El
periodo de nominación se cerrara el 7 de diciembre del
2012 a las 4:30 p.m.
Si los documentos de
nominación para un oficial incumbente no son presentados
a la Ciudad para el 7 de diciembre del 2012 (88 días
antes de las elecciones) los votantes tendrán hasta 85
días antes de las elecciones, 12 de diciembre del 2012,
para nominar otros candidatos en lugar de la(s)
persona(s) que son incumbentes en el 88 día antes de las
elecciones, para la oficina electiva del incumbente.
Esta extensión no se aplica si no hay un incumbente
calificado para ser electo.
Si no se nomina a nadie o
solamente a una persona para un cargo electivo, se puede
realizar el nombramiento al cargo elegido según lo
prescrito por la §10229 del Código Electoral del Estado
de California.
Los centros electorales estarán
abiertos entre las 7:00 a.m. y 8:00 p.m.
