For Calabasas City Council
DAVID J. SHAPIRO
My Family and I have lived in Calabasas for 18 years. I
also moved my business to Calabasas in 1994. We
raised our three children in the public school system and
have made giving back to the community a way of life.
I am running for City Council because I want to make a
positive difference in our great City.
During the past 18 years, I have continued to give back
to our wonderful City, whether it be serving on the
Library Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission,
Community Center Board, Community Center Alliance,
CPHA Board, acting as Teen Court Judge, or Coaching
Basketball, Baseball and Soccer for over 14 years.
My goals in the coming term, are to maintain a high level
of fiscal responsibility, including a high level of reserves,
support our local businesses, protect our valuable open
space, as well as stop over-development, and continue
to support and work for the betterment of our schools,
and safety for the City as a whole. Further, I want to
make certain Calabasas provides the same wonderful
services it has in the past, including the Pumpkin
Festival, Concerts in the Park, Fourth of July, Flu Clinic,
and extended Library Hours as well as so much more.
By being supportive of our local business, thereby
maintaining our revenue stream, we can continue to
create new and fantastic ideas going forward together.
Whether you know me from coaching in our city leagues
for over 14 years, as your City Councilman, or as the
guy who waves and always says hi, I am the same
person who wants to give back to my community as I
have for almost 20 years.
For this past year I have served with honor and
distinction as your City Councilman. It has been my
privilege to lead the City Relay for Life Team, work
towards the creation of a fiscally strong future, work as a
member of the Senior Task Force toward the building of
a Senior Center, and act as a reasonable and fair
individual to help bring a positive consensus to our
Council. All this and more were done solely with the
goal of doing what is right for our City. I ask that you
cast your Vote for me for Council to allow me to work to
Keep Calabasas Great.
