FOR MEMBER OF
THE CITY COUNCIL
BOB SIBILIA
Age: 52
Occupation: Consumer Attorney
Primary goal:
Make Calabasas the premier community in Southern California to raise a family.
All citizens benefit by assuring strong property values, in a safe, clean
community that prudently manages fiscal resources.
Now more than ever, Calabasas needs a representative
unencumbered by the debt of political favors; an independent, objective voice
with experience and proven local leadership. I offer a link to the
accomplishments and wisdom of the early City Councils, without ties or
obligations to current political insiders. My past affiliations in Calabasas:
-
Mayor
-
City Councilman
-
Parks, Recreation and Education Commissioner
-
Agoura/Calabasas Community Center Joint Powers Chairman/Board Member
-
CPHA Board Member
-
“Principal for the Day@
Bay Laurel and A.E. Wright
-
Teen Court Judge
-
Member Calabasas Wall of Honor
-
Calabasas Chamber of Commerce
I received a Bachelor of Arts from UCONN, and graduated
from Whittier College School of Law.
My wife Ellen and I moved to Calabasas in 1991, to provide
our children with an excellent public school education, in a safe, small-town
atmosphere. Our girls attended Bay Laurel Elementary, A.E. Wright and A.C.
Stelle Middle Schools, graduated from CHS and now attend public and private
universities. We have gained a wealth of varied experiences over these years.
With this unique perspective I will work with the LVUSD for the collective
benefit of our children and community.
Preservation of our open space and trail systems will be a
top priority.
Traffic congestion remains unacceptable. I will not
bow down to developers who prioritize profits over our valued quality of life in
Calabasas and will continue my long stance of supporting only slow, controlled
growth.
Many vital Council decisions regarding litigation and land
use are made out of public view, in closed session. I will make informed,
educated decisions based upon my 25 years’ experience as a civil litigation
attorney in both California and Hawaii and expertise as a licensed real estate
broker. I will advocate a dissenting opinion when appropriate, always in a
civil manner and in the best interests of Calabasas.
I pledge to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and
professionalism, respectful of both colleagues and opponents. I will always
listen to the ideas and concerns of our citizens.
It would be my honor and privilege to once again serve as a
member of the Calabasas City Council. Contact me at (818) 687-4711 or
BringBackBob@aol.com to discuss any issue. I respectfully ask for your vote on
March 8, 2011.
