FOR
MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
ALICIA WEINTRAUB
Age: 33
Occupation: Public Policy Advisor
As a professional with strong local government experience and a parent of two
young children, I represent the present and future of Calabasas. As a city
council member, my goal would be to enhance the quality of life our great
community enjoys.
I appreciate that Calabasas is a safe community where children can still play
outside, walk to school, and know their neighbors. I received my Bachelor of
Arts from UCLA and my Master of Public Policy with a specialization in Economic
Policy and Local and Regional Policy from Pepperdine University.
I have over 10 years of local government experience. At both the cities of
Burbank and Culver City, I managed the revitalization of their respective
downtowns and developed new community programs. I have also worked for a
private community-based real estate organization, where I managed community
revitalization efforts and successfully helped obtain federal funding for local
projects. Early in my career, I had the privilege to work for the City of
Calabasas and saw firsthand how Calabasas is a model city. I am currently a
member of the City of Calabasas Bicycle Advisory Committee.
Throughout my career, I have learned the need to balance both residential and
commercial interests, to develop partnerships with neighboring government
agencies, and to develop programs that are fiscally responsible. As a city
councilwoman, I would leverage this experience to bring a fresh perspective and
to help continue to meet the needs of the entire community.
As a parent, I am also committed to protecting our public schools. I look
forward to working with the Las Virgenes Unified School District and our state
representatives to ensure that our schools obtain the resources needed to
maintain their high quality, even in our difficult economic climate.
As a city councilwoman, my goals include the following:
-
Ensure the safety of our community
-
Maintain fiscal responsibility and
accountability for city spending
-
Balance our community’s residential and
commercial needs
-
Preserve Calabasas’ open space
Additionally, I would be an advocate for all residents as I am not beholden
to any special interest groups or particular area of the community. Please
contact me at
(818) 426-0946 or at
aliciaweintraub@earthlink.net to share your vision for the city.
I would be honored to serve on the city council with the goal of making our
community an even better place to live—now and in the future.
