Welcome all distinguished artists, designers and crafts people! Join us as we celebrate the 11th Annual Calabasas Fine Arts Festival, May 3 & 4, 2008.  This destination art event boasts hundreds of artists and thousands of affluent buyers from Calabasas and the entire Southern California region who eagerly anticipate the show each year.  Our festival offers visitors and exhibitors a beautiful venue adjacent to an upscale shopping and dining experience.  We encourage you to share your creative work, knowing that the quality and originality you bring greatly enriches this wonderful community tradition.  Fine Artists and Hand Crafters welcome!

Calabasas Fine Arts Festival
Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4, 2008
10:00am - 5:00pm
Located at 23975 Park Sorrento, Calabasas CA

Juried Festival Features:

  • 10,000 - 15,000 art buyers
  • Outdoor, flat, paved surfaces

Exhibitor Requirements:

  • Original / handcrafted work by artist's own hand
  • Weighted canopy (unless approved by Jury-call first)
  • Personal display equipment

NOTE: The Calabasas Arts Council does not rent display equipment or canopies.

Jury Guidelines:

All artwork is juried into the show.  Only work created by the exhibitor's own hand will be considered and is subject to jury discretion.  It is the goal of the Arts Council to raise the level of craftsmanship each year; therefore the jury process is based on artist's current submission information and not seniority or previous participation.  Jury acceptance and booth placement are based on the overall aesthetic, price points and design.

2008 Registration Timelines:

MARCH 3 - Artist application and fees due* (applications must be received by Monday, March 3rd for jury consideration and to avoid late charges.  "Illustrious Artists" will be notified via phone - see section below for details).

MARCH 3 - MARCH 21 - Committee to jury all applications.

MARCH 21 - Notice of Acceptance and show announcements mailed to applicants.

APRIL 4 - Directions, parking permits & space assignments mailed to artists.

Note:  Late registrations will be accepted based on availability and show aesthetic. Call for pricing.

How To Apply:

Please submit the following to the address below:

1)  Completed Application Form.

2)  Minimum of 2 or more 3x5 or 4x6 photos of the work to be exhibited and 1 photo of your booth display (no slides).  Submission materials will be returned at the conclusion of the festival.

3) An artist statement or brief description of your work.

4) Fees:
    a)  Jury Fee- Submit a check or money order for $15 (non-refundable) jury fee made payable to
    "The City of Calabasas" (Note: credit cards are not accepted for jury fee).

    b) Booth Fees-Pay by check, money order or credit card for fees related to booth space,
    electricity (optional), additional postcards (optional), etc.  See application for price chart.  

Become A Calabasas Illustrious Artist!

Originating as an artists' colony in the early 20th Century, the beautiful City of Calabasas has inspired many illustrious artists, filmmakers, writers and architects to reside in the region. Continuing with its rich tradition of showcasing the arts, you are invited to apply to become a 2008 "Calabasas Illustrious Artist". If awarded, you will receive the following benefits:

  1. Free 10x10 booth space within premium section of the show. (Booth Fee will be returned).
     

  2. Extensive marketing: Images of artwork may be featured in event flyers, posters, cable television programs and news articles.
     

  3. Artwork featured on commemorative festival bags and program.
     

  4. To be eligible, send a full press kit, complete with artist biography, press releases & media friendly photos of work along with your application. Examples include digital images (300 dpi or higher) and/or studio photos.
