The CHS
Collection contains important books, photographs, pamphlets,
maps, magazines, newspapers and transcripts of interviews with
local residents.
Collection Hours:
(When docents are available)
Hours for the collection room will be limited. Please call
the library to check if the room is staffed before coming
by.
Fridays:
12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Historical Society Annual Essay Winners 2013
First Prize - Chelsea Skrabak, Calabasas High School
(11th grade) for essay - Calabasas: The Influence of
Women Figures
Second Prize - Sarah Brown, Calabasas High School
(12th grade) for essay: Calabasas Dynamic and
Colorful Beginnings (Sarah won first prize last
year)
Third Prize - Trevor Wong, Agoura High School (9th
grade) for essay - Clarence Pierce: The Man Behind
the Vision of Pierce College

CHS is pleased to announce
that the winner of the 2012 - $500 award is Sarah Brown, a
junior at Calabasas High School, for her essay entitled:
“History and Culture of the Southern California Chumash”.
We also awarded Honorable Mention for three additional
submissions: “The Cultural Diversity Between Multiple Tribes
in Southern California,” by Alexi Chacon, a freshman at
Sierra Canyon School; “Historical Awakening in Calabasas” by
Ali Asghar, a junior at Calabasas High School; and “A
Beautiful Home,” by Lucky Ding, a senior at Agoura High
School. |
